When Hodari and Shylah’s grandmother was admitted to the hospital, they never imagined that one of the greatest things they would lose was not just a loved one, but her famous gumbo recipe. It had never been written down. Like many treasured family recipes, it lived only in her memory. After she passed away, they tried to recreate the meal that had brought their family together for years, but they couldn’t. The recipe was gone.
That painful experience became the inspiration for Legacy Table.
